PLIOGRIP EPOXY RESIN PER 178C AND PLIOGRIP HARDENER PH 110
Cold Curing Liquid Epoxy System for Potting I Casting I Encapsulation
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
PLIOGRIP EPOXY RESIN PER 178C is a liquid solvent-free epoxy resin. It has found many and varied applications. PLiOGRIP PER 178C is curable at room temperature without application of pressure using PLiOGRIP HARDENER PH 110. The application of heat accelerates the curing process. No volatile substances are given off and cure shrinkage is generally very low and may still be reduced further by the addition of fillers such as silica flour, china clay etc.
Pliogrip Epoxy Resin PER 178C is specially formulated for potting, casting, encapsulation of low voltage electrical & electronic components such as coils, magnets, recording heads, subassemblies, auto components like electronic relays of headlamps I horns, circuit and connector elements, sockets, bases and fittings. Castings made from this system exhibit excellent electrical insulation properties and high mechanical strength. It is also used for hand lay-up. Laminates produced from this system are little more flexible.
TYPICAL PROPERTIES OF PLiOGRIP EPOXY RESIN PER178C & PLiOGRIP HARDENER PH 110
PLIOGRIP EPOXY RESIN PER 178C | PLIOGRIP HARDENER PH 110 | |

MIXING PROCEDURE & TEMPERATURE:
The batch quantity required for encapsulation, lamination may be predetermined and accordingly resin and hardener be weighted accurately. Hardener is then added to the resin and thoroughly mixed.
POT LIFE:
The pot life of the mix is around 45 minutes at 30°C for 100gm mass. The pot life will decrease with increase in mass and lor temperature.
DEMOULDING TIME:
Demoulding temperature °C | 3 | 40 | 70 | 100 |
Demoulding time | 4-5 hrs | 3-4 hrs | 55-75mins | 20-30mins |
The addition of 6-8 parts by weight of Hardener PH110 does, however, require longer curing time.
Curing temperature °C | 2 | 4 | 70 | 100 | 130 |
Curing time (hrs.) | 48 | 25-35 | 7-14 | 5-7 | 3-5 |
