GENERAL DESCRIPTION
EPOXY I AROMATIC AMINE SYSTEM FOR FILAMENT WINDING
Frequently used curing agent in this system is methylenedianiline (MDA). Pot life is much longer than that for hand lay-up system and curing is at elevated temperatures. The filament winding technique is one of the most important methods for producing structural epoxide laminates. The main application of this process is in the production of pipes and pressure vessels which are engineering structures that require close tolerances.
The filament winding technique consists of impregnating continuous glass rovings or tape in the resin-hardener mix followed by winding on a mandrel having the shape of the final product.
